The Funds Keep Coming In For CCC

Saanvi and her parents.

We raised over $3000 at our July Winemaker’s Dinner! Then – just when we thought it couldn’t get any better –  Miss Saanvi decided to help out the kids of Compassionate Chefs Cafe during Spring India Day.  We’ll let her tell it…

Hi Ranjan,

I am Saanvi Atluri, 7 years old and in second grade. I am interested in Robotics, Cooking, and of course, playing with my friends. I love the color pink and wish everything in this world is pink in color.

One weekend morning we were doing family breakfast and I asked my parents ‘how about a lemonade stand this summer?’ My mom encouraged the idea and mentioned we could donate the proceeds to charity. My Dad liked our idea and supported the same.

Both my great-grandfathers are freedom fighters and they did lots of charity. My family does believe in education and we also sponsor yearly two kids for education. My grandparents does annadanam (food charity) for many religious events. My family believes in giving back to society.

When I met Ranjan Dey (my mom’s Guruji) with my parents, he mentioned about Compassionate Chefs organization and the great work the organization did to communities across world. Being a global citizen, I thought I should help kids for education. My parents always told me that I an responsible for my future.

I volunteered to add lemonade to a South Indian food booth named “KOSTA” at the Spring India Day event along with my friends and family. With support, I was able to raise funds by selling lemonade at San Francisco’s Union Square.

I am looking forward to working with Compassionate Chefs Cafe and supporting them. I wish all the very best to kids in the organization. Let us make this world a better place to live!

I would like to thank my Dad (Krishna), my Mom (Deepika), Guruji (Ranjan), Uncle (Sharat), Aunts (Sujatha, Sunita), Sisir (little cousin) for supporting me in this great cause.

With love,
Saanvi Atluri Choudary

Saanvi will be selling lemonade at the Dilli Haat event in Sunnyvale, CA on August 5th. If you find yourself in the neighborhood, go say hi and get some delicious lemonade!
